This will be an amazing quilt to piece! We will have a great time learning half square triangles. So many quilt patterns today incorporate half square triangles. Pattern has a throw (76” square) and queen (92” square) size quilt option. This class is for a beginning quilter. I will provide 5 hours of instruction over the course and be available via text/email/phone if you need me during the course. You will receive your pattern for the quilt. I will have some surprises for each class attendee over the course. You will receive 20% off longarm quilting services if you choose to have me quilt your final product. Our class will be held at Riverhouse Relics. The classroom is on the second floor and there is elevator access so you don’t have to lug your “stuff” up the stairs. I will have a couple ironing stations set up for use the days we cut and sew. I will also have an extra cutting area set up as well just in case. PLEASE see note below about knowing your machine.
Class Breakdown:
3/12 – 6:30-7:30pm
We will have a meeting to discuss the class. I will have your pattern for you. We will talk about fabric requirements and optional cutting tools for cutting fabric. We will also talk about how to pick out your fabric and what to look for. We will be working with fat quarters for this project. The pattern will discuss potentially using a layer cake. For the class, we will focus on fat quarters use so that we are all using the same cut of fabric. The only thing you need to bring to this class is yourself, a pen/pencil, and maybe a note pad.
3/21 – 10am-12pm
We will be cutting fabric. I will be giving cutting instructions/guidance. You may not have everything cut today but you will reach a point that you are comfortable to finish at home before our next class. If there are questions or concerns, I will be available after class to assist as needed.
Items needed for class:
All fabric for project
Container or way to carry fabric back and forth
Rotary cutter and cutting mat
Ruler for cutting fabric
Pins/clips and sticky notes for marking fabric pieces

Instructor Bio:
I have been quilting for more than 15 years. I worked at the Scarlet Thread Quilt Co for several years. I have taught several classes. I love to teach a new skill to those wanting to learn. It is exciting to see someone try/learn something new. I am a pattern writer with several of my own patterns available on Etsy and at the Quilted Bee in Monticello. I own a longarm quilt machine and quilt for myself and customers. Quilting started as a stress reliever while working in management. What started as stress relief has become a passion. There is so much to quilting and you learn something new all the time. One of my favorite things is to make a quilt and pass it along to someone else.
