Dave Schellhase Speaking and Book Signing Event

Thursday March 7  6:30 – 7:30  Book Signing and Talk by Dave Schellhase

Dave Schellhase, now a Logansport resident and teacher at LHS, is a former Indiana high school basketball star and a Purdue basketball legend. His book, The Schellhase Story, tells of his journey through a life of athletics. Originally from Evansville, Schellhase was a member of Evansville North’s first winning basketball team, led the state in scoring in his senior year with a career total of 1325 points, and was a member of the  Indiana All-Star Team.  A starting forward at Purdue under Head Coach Ray Eddy, he led the Boilermakers in scoring in his senior year with 32.5 points a game.  Schellhase scored a career high of 57 points against Michigan, just behind Rick Mount’s 61.  He was the first of six Boilermakers to reach 2000 points.  After graduating Purdue he played in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls, returned to Purdue as assistant coach, was head coach at Moorhead State,  a coach at Indiana State, and a coach at Cannelton High School.  Schellhase is a Purdue and Indiana High School Hall of Fame player and also a Hall of Fame college coach.
