Project Connect & Hangout (formerly Safe Space)

A safe space for youth to connect & hangout. Must be no later then 20 mins from the start of the event to participate in the group! Starting September 10th. Ages 13-16 years of age. Schedule will reflect Logansport Community School Corporation schedules (for breaks).

Youth guides activities/discussions

This initiative offers a safe space designed to empower youth by developing protective factors, with a primary focus on social skills development and the prevention of peer pressure and substance use. We hope to strengthen coping strategies, emotional processing, stress management, and dealing with interpersonal conflicts, among other vital topics.

By fostering a nurturing environment, participants can connect with experienced adult mentors and engage with their peers, sharing experiences, and insights in a safe space. Discussions are adaptable. With a maximum capacity of 20 participants per session, the program aims to enhance youths’ ability to communicate effectively with peers and adults, fostering reconnection and promoting healthy interactions and support-seeking behaviors. The group is dedicated to supporting mental health, preventing substance use, and encouraging youth to seek and offer support within their community. An opportunity to connect, play games, connect, and have fun!
