Walton Library Murder Mystery Dinner
A few weeks ago, the Walton Library had a window smashed after an individual threw a cinder block through one of the Community Room windows. Debris was cleaned up and the individual was arrested. A new window has been ordered and will be replaced. But now, we’re dealing with a grave situation.
A man by the name of Mr. Boddy was found dead inside the walls of the library. Police have investigated and the coroner has claimed the body. However, police are not sure who killed Mr. Boddy. They have an idea, but they’re asking for public help in solving this mystery. That’s where you come in.
On Friday, April 25th, the library will host a dinner party from 6 to 8 p.m. One of the guests is the killer, according to the police, who have compiled a list of 40
suspects. The police officers are hoping someone will be able to help identify the killer.
If you are up to the task, please join us on the 25th. Dinner will consist of an option of Italian foods. Desserts will be available. And the hunt will be on to solve
the murder mystery.
Only 40 tickets will be sold at $40 each. This is a fundraiser for the library.
COME TO DINNER! IT’S TO DIE FOR!
Murder-Mystery Dinner Details
Participants are asked to stop by the circulation desk at the library. Payment in the form of either $40 cash or check is acceptable.
Then, you’ll be able to choose your character. A list will be provided. First-come, first-served basis.
You’ll be given a packet of information. Please read through the details.
Do not reveal anything to anyone, including a spouse, child, or friend. After all, the purpose is to solve a murder by playing the game, which is loosely based on CLUE.
Next, you’ll arrive – in style (dressed as your character, in black-tie affair, or business casual) – on April 25th. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m.
In addition to the packet of information, there will be 10 hidden clues throughout the library. The first person to find a clue gets that clue for free. Anyone else
who wants access to a clue must pay a “freewill” donation—this event is a fund- raiser for the library, so any money donated, whether for the ticket or for a clue
is tax deductible.
There will be forms to fill out at a designated table. People are asked to write on the form the name of the killer, along with where the murder took place, what
weapon was used for the killing, and what time the guess occurred. The person who filed the form first with all correct information (based off of the time
the form was submitted) will be declared the greatest sleuth of the night.
