Purpose After Protest: Turning #NoKings Into Next Steps

Community organizers announce Purpose After Protest, a fast, one-hour working session designed to help residents translate the energy of the recent No Kings rallies into concrete civic action. The session will be held Wednesday October 29, 2025, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Logansport Library and is open to all.

“Protest raises the alarm. Purpose builds the plan,” said Lita Rouser, facilitator of Purpose After Protest. “In 60 minutes, we’ll help people pick a lane, find partners and leave with next steps they can begin the next day.”

During the session, participants will:

• Identify a priority issue surfaced by the No Kings rallies (e.g., fair representation, government accountability, community safety).
• Choose a practical action lane: policy advocacy, voter engagement, public education or leadership development
• Map power and allies (who decides, who influences, who benefits, who’s missing).
• Draft a 14-day micro-plan with roles, timelines and a quick-win milestone.
• Plug into an ongoing team or form a new working group with a check-in date.

“People want to do more than hold a sign—they want to hold leaders accountable,” Rouser said . “This hour is about moving from outrage to organized outcomes.”
