Jazz Cabaret

The Logansport School Corporation Music Department will be hosting the annual Jazz Cabaret on April 29 in the McHale Performing Arts Center.

The Junior High School Jazz Band will open the show, followed by some percussion features.  The LHS Swing Choir will perform followed by the High School Jazz Band.  The bands will cover a myriad of American musical styles, including Swing, Latin-jazz, Blues and Contemporary.  Guest soloist Dr. Judd Danby will be featured on piano with the LHS Jazz Band.   Judd is a composer and teacher, most recently with Depauw University and Lafayette Jefferson HS.  There will be a world premiere performance of a piece composed by Dr. Danby; written specifically for LHS and commissioned by the Logansport Music Boosters.  RED and BLACK and BLUES is an interesting 12-bar-blues form that is based on thematic elements of the LHS School Song.

Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for children.
