DESCRIPTION:\nThe City of Logansport has partnered with the Indiana University Environmental Resilience Institute to plant one hundred trees in the community through the Urban Green Infrastructure Resilience Cohort.\nJulien Doty, an undergraduate senior at Indiana University Bloomington studying Environmental Science and Economics, interned with Planning Director Arin Shaver during the summer of 2026, and conducted data-driven analyses to identify the highest priority planting areas while also building partnerships with community members to incorporate feedback. The project aims to plant trees that will serve and be cared for by residents for generations.\nDowntown and west side locations were selected after analyzing flood risks, social demographics and heat intensities.
