SUMMARY:AUDITIONS FOR Jesus Christ Superstar
DESCRIPTION:\nJesus Christ Superstar is a sung-through ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sung-through ) rock opera ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_opera ) with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Lloyd_Webber ) and lyrics by Tim Rice ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Rice ). Loosely based on the Gospel accounts ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_of_Jesus_in_the_New_Testament ) of the Passion ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passion_of_Jesus ), the work interprets the psychology of Jesus ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus ) and other characters, with much of the plot centered on Judas ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judas_Iscariot ), who is disillusioned with the direction of Jesus’ ministry. Contemporary attitudes, sensibilities, and slang pervade the rock opera’s lyrics, and ironic allusions to modern life are scattered throughout the depiction of political events; stage and film productions accordingly contain many intentional anachronisms ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anachronism ).\nThursday, Feb. 18\n6-9 p.m.\nFriday, Feb. 19\n6-9 p.m.\nSaturday, Feb. 20\n2-5 p.m.\nSunday, Feb. 21\nCallbacks from 1-5 p.m. or as needed\n \n
