SUMMARY:Student Technical Theatre Workshop
DESCRIPTION:\nLOGANSPORT, IN – The State Theatre Preservation Society is pleased to announce a Free Student Technical Theatre Workshop for high school students throughout Cass County. The workshop will be held July 13–17, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM daily at the historic State Theatre in downtown Logansport.\nThe week-long program is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of technical theatre and provide hands-on experience in the behind-the-scenes aspects of live productions. Participants will learn the fundamentals of stage lighting, sound systems, video production, stage management, set construction, and other essential technical theatre skills.\nThe workshop is open to all Cass County high school students, including students entering high school this fall and recent graduates. No prior theatre experience is required.\n“Technical theatre is an important part of the performing arts, yet many students never have the opportunity to explore these skills,” said representatives of the State Theatre Preservation Society. “This workshop is intended to provide arts education opportunities to students throughout Cass County while introducing them to potential career paths and lifelong interests in the arts and entertainment industry.”\nThe workshop will be led by Ken Fraza, an experienced theatre professional and educator with extensive knowledge of technical theatre production. Through hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises, students will gain valuable experience working with professional theatre equipment and production techniques.\nThe Student Technical Theatre Workshop reflects the State Theatre Preservation Society’s ongoing commitment to arts education and community engagement. By offering the program free of charge, the organization hopes to make technical theatre education accessible to students regardless of their background or previous experience.\nSpace may be limited, and interested students are encouraged to register as soon as possible.\nFor additional information or to register, contact the State Theatre Preservation Society at www.statetheatrelive.com ( http://www.statetheatrelive.com ). Watch State Theatre’s social media pages for updates.\nAbout the State Theatre Preservation Society\nThe State Theatre Preservation Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the historic State Theatre in Logansport, Indiana, while providing cultural, educational, and entertainment opportunities for the community.
