Indiana Rural Opioid Consortium – Teen Room Exhibit
North Central Indiana Area Health Education Center in partnership with the Indiana Rural Opioid Consortium, Logansport Memorial Hospital and Boilerworx are bringing the Teen Room Exhibit to Cass County.
The free educational experience will be held September 11 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the McHale Performing Arts Center in Logansport.
The exhibit is an Indiana Rural Opioid Consortium outreach and education program. The Teen Room Exhibit is an effort to prevent opioid use disorder by teaching parents, guardians, and caretaking adults about the signs and symptoms of opioid use disorder. The experience is free to attend and will illustrate common drug hiding places, where and what to look for in your child’s room and steps to take if drugs are found in your child’s possession.
Jonie Colvin of Logansport will open the evening by sharing her son Kace’s substance abuse disorder story. She will talk about her son’s struggles with addiction throughout his life and the efforts his family and friends gave to help Kace with his addiction. In addition to Jonie, the Purdue College of Pharmacy student led group, Boilerworx,will be distributing free deterra bags. These bags may be used to safely dispose of unused medications.
