9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
The city of Logansport invites you to this year’s 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, commemorating the 19thanniversary of the victims who perished in the deadly terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 in New York City, Arlington, Virginia,and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Starting time for this event will be at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Logansport City Building.
A special proclamation will be read by Mayor Chris Martin at 8:45 a.m., which was the time that the first plane, American Airlines Flight 11, crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Broadway will be closed off to traffic from 7th street to 6th street by Logansport Police and Fire.
The American flag will be lowered to half-staff, while the thin blue and thin red line flags are raised to half-staff, honoring the memory of those public safety officers who gave their lives in service to their nation on that tragic day.
Police Chief Travis Yike will speak on behalf of the police, with Fire Chief Rick Bair speaking on behalf of the firefighters.
